Anastasia Locklin, LMFT

Meet Anastasia Locklin, a compassionate bilingual Afro-Latina therapist with over a decade of clinical experience. Her journey is marked by a profound commitment to guiding her clients on their path to healing and reconnecting with their true selves. Through Unlock Your Joy Therapy, Anastasia passionately supports individuals and families in rediscovering self-love, confidence, and joy while healing intergenerational trauma.

For Anastasia, therapy is more than a profession; it's a spiritual calling rooted in a deep sense of purpose. She believes in guiding not only personal healing but also the collective journey towards reconnection and unconditional love. Recognizing the transformative power of intergenerational trauma healing, Anastasia sees each wound as a sacred opening to profound transformation, breaking ancestral cycles of pain for a brighter, more empowered future.

Beyond her therapeutic practice, Anastasia's empathy for the human experience fuels her dedication to social justice advocacy and mental health awareness. Her work has earned recognition on esteemed platforms like NPR's 'The Life Kit' and contributions to national publications. She has been featured as a contributor and provided valuable clinical insights to platforms such as Yahoo, Wondermind, The Cut Magazine, SheKnows, The Doctor channel on Sirius XM radio, and TVOne.

Anastasia's educational journey and professional life are deeply intertwined with her mission. She earned dual bachelor degrees in African American Studies and Sociology from San Jose State University, where she was involved and served in numerous public service organizations while earning membership into Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. As a first-generation college graduate, she recognized her calling to further her education and pursued a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of San Francisco. Throughout her formative years, Anastasia dedicated herself to working with various non-profit organizations, community mental health programs, and co-occurring dual diagnosis alcohol and drug rehabilitation programs. She has served underserved, marginalized communities from all walks of life across California, spanning from the Bay Area to Los Angeles. Her specialties include healing intergenerational trauma, addressing relationship and familial conflict, managing anxiety and depression, aiding her clients in the reconnection of self-esteem and self worth, healing from heartbreak and betrayal,  healing from social anxiety, and addressing the root cause of addiction issues. Anastasia is certified in anger management and has also received training in somatic trauma therapy.

In her therapeutic approach, Anastasia offers an all-encompassing, holistic perspective. She holds a deep belief that every individual has their unique process and journey, with inner strength, insights, and personal purpose. She's a compassionate guide, weaving her psychology training, education, intuitive guidance, and down-to-earth heart centered compassion and empathy. She encourages and challenges her clients to pursue lives that resonate with their deepest truths, and pursue the lives they desire and deserve all while undertaking the sacred work of healing, aligning with their life purpose, and embracing their true authentic selves. Anastasia guides her clients back home to themselves, facilitating sacred work of healing and transformation.

Adriana Locklin, ACSW

 Adriana Locklin, an Afro-Latina associate social worker with over a decade of experience, is dedicated to supporting children, youth, and families through life's challenges. Her passion for helping others led her to pursue a dual bachelor's degree in Human Development and Sociology from California State University, San Marcos. Adriana's commitment to service deepened as she worked at a nonprofit agencies, guiding marginalized middle and high school students toward post-secondary success.

​

As a first-generation college student who navigated high sensitivity and introversion during her own teenage years, Adriana is particularly passionate about instilling faith and confidence in adolescent and teenage clients facing trauma, self-esteem issues, family conflict, anxiety, and depression.

​

After earning a Master's Degree in Social Work from Azusa Pacific University, Adriana devoted the past six years to Child Welfare and children's case management. Her focus includes assisting children and families in healing from family trauma, disconnection, and conflict, with an emphasis on reuniting children with their biological families. Adriana specializes in addressing intergenerational trauma, drawing on extensive experience that has impacted her clients' family lineages.

Culturally competent through education and life experiences, Adriana possesses the gift of empathy and genuine connection, supporting clients from diverse backgrounds and walks of life. Certified as an anger management specialist by the National Anger Management Association and trained in numerous trauma-focused approaches, Adriana provides therapy services tailored to children and adolescents, utilizing trauma-informed treatment modalities.

Adriana's therapeutic focus encompasses managing daily stressors, processing trauma, navigating grief and loss, enhancing parent-child relationships, boosting self-esteem, and addressing depressive and anxiety symptoms. Employing a compassionate person-centered approach, she prioritizes building a strong rapport with each client to facilitate understanding and healing throughout their treatment journey.

Specializing in clients aged 8-18 facing challenges such as depression, anxiety, social anxiety, trauma, and other life issues, Adriana frequently integrates play therapy techniques in her sessions. This includes child-centered play therapy, expressive art therapy, sand-tray therapy, and cognitive-behavioral therapy, designed to engage and support clients from an all encompassing holistic approach.

As a trauma-informed therapist, Adriana is deeply passionate about assisting children, adolescents, and families in navigating life's complexities. Grounded in psychology, holistic healing and empathy, her strength-based perspective guides clients toward personal growth and positive life changes. Creating a secure and compassionate space for processing, new meaning making, healing, and transformation, Adriana empowers and collaborates with her clients to identify goals for their healing journey and meets every client with sincere compassion and understanding.
